Prezi example

Finally, something to save us from PowerPoint presentations with one slide after another filled with bullet points until: zzzzzzz. Prezi is a tool that puts all the text and images on a single screen and the presenter zooms in, out and around to liven up the presentation. Take a look at this Prezi presentation and you’ll get it. The company recently announced Prezi Meeting, which lets multiple users collaborate on a presentation in real time, a kind of WebEx for creative types.

To make a Prezi, you write your various points on the screen, then use the onscreen tools to arrange, size and orient the elements and create a pathway among them. See the company’s tutorial for the basics. Even linear thinkers whose brains run on bullet points can create some visual excitement by flying the audience from one list to the next.

You can try Prezi for free, with one big caveat: the Prezis you create will be open to public view. Paid memberships get you private use and come at two levels. For $59 a year, make presentations through the Prezi site with 500 MB of storage; for $159 a year, use 2,000 MB of storage on their site or work offline.

You’ll never hear snoring again when giving a presentation.
